Although we are an English language kennels we are based in
Southern Spain. We have been using Kennel Master for just over
6 months. Prior to purchasing Kennel Master we trialled
approximately 20 packages, and looked at screen prints of
maybe another 15. We looked in all price brackets and all
host countries. Most of our packages were discounted due to
the booking screen. We had previously been using a simple set
of excel linked documents and my husband in particular wanted an
easy to read booking screen that reflected our layout.
We are a 32 berth kennels and a separate 14 berth cattery making
us a fairly large establishment. It was important to us that
the software we chose allowed us to comply with the regulations in
place in our country. For instance we need to keep full
records of vaccinations, microchip numbers, medical treatments etc.
We
are also passionate about keeping complex records of our owners
allowing us to have such information as currently undergoing
treatment for cancer etc.
We have the software on one computer alone so I cannot comment
on the networked version.
Since we have had the software Copper have issued 3 updates
which on each occasion have improved the software. I have sent
comments for things I feel could be improved and these along with
other people's suggestions have been added. Copper seem to be
committed to improving the package and working with the end
users to produce a very relevant product in the market place.
I have had a couple of instances to contact Customer Support.
One prior to the purchase of the package which was to do with
the currency denomination as we are an English language company but
operating in the Euro zone we needed the Euro denominator
instead of Pounds Sterling. They sent me a solution to
this problem within 2 hours! The second time we had an update
that corrupted my database and again I contacted Customer
Support who sent me the old version back within minutes to get me
operational. Worked on a patch to solve the original problem
and had me on the new version by the end of the day. I
firmly believe that all software packages do occasionally have
a glitch but it is how the company deals with that and how
quickly the problem is resolved that is important.
We have enjoyed using the package and it has made a big impact
to the way in which we run our business. Things have changed
for the better and the paperwork side is much simpler. When someone
calls us we can search for their number / names of animals etc
from the telephone number and instantly be able to
converse with them as if they are our most important
clients!
We could not find a better package / fit for us / at any price.
We even looked at packages well in excess of 800
USD.......
The customer service and the ongoing support we have received
from Copper, has been second to none in my experience. The
continued updates are more than worth the yearly maintenance fee
and the ongoing support. The original price in my opinion is
more than competitive.
